Dear Tracy and Steve. When I first arrived at your door I had no idea of my capabilities nor that I was even talented. I could also have never anticipated that I would encounter my stand-in-white-musical-genie parents of British descent. You have both taught me so much about music, the music business, music legends, careers, life choices and have graciously shared stories of your family history and past experiences at school and your various workplaces. My mind has been a sponge. I am certainly more wealthy in knowledge because of you two. I hold the utmost respect and am in awe of the type of people you are; caring, loving and non-judgemental to say the least. You opened your doors to me at times where it seemed that the world had shut them on me. I could never have imagined a life without sport upon hearing of my condition. But within your home I often forgot that I ever had interests apart from music.

You two are the ultimate unit: intelligent, kind, well-dressed, socially aware and are extremely compassionate and understanding. These character traits are completely representative of the person I aspire to become. Thank you for showing me that. I hope I live as lovingly and wholesomely as you both live. I hope my home is as warm (and as modern) as yours is. I hope I never stop learning – just like you guys. Dearest Trace. I cannot begin to tell you how privileged I feel to have had you as my teacher over these past four years. You are so kind, patient and selfless in all that you do and I am so lucky to have had the chance to learn from you. You are a true inspiration to me and I find myself constantly amazed at your dedication and passion. I know I will carry the musical intuition and guidance you have given me for the rest of my life. I can say with complete certainty that I would not be the musician I am today if it hadn't been for your incomparable musical insight and words of wisdom. Dear Steve. Thank you for the endless amounts of support and encouragement during my time at Songworks. Dear Tracy and Steve. I don't know where to start. I suppose that it's a good thing that I'm writing this rather than just using my voice because I've always expressed myself better on paper. For the past 5 years you have given me an outlet – a way to escape from school. For that I will always be grateful. However, for the past two years you have given me another home. We all know that my home life is very rigid, but you guys have given me another home in which I'm just expected to be who I want to be. You have believed in me, laughed with me and even fought for me. In your home I have felt a freedom and joy that so many take advantage of and not enough get to experience. So saying goodbye to you both is not only difficult, but almost impossible.

I know that this goodbye is not forever and staying would stop me from becoming a person you can both be proud of. Thank you so much for the past five years. There have been ups, downs, disappointments (on both sides) and victories. Through it all you have always had my back – even when I may have disappointed you. I can't tell you how much you both mean to me. If I tried it would just sound lame and dramatic. Just know that I love you both so much and that you have played such a crucial role in terms of the person who I am today and the (hopefully) great woman who I will be in the future. Thank you. Dear Tracy. I can't believe it has been 5 whole years! Honestly they have whizzed by so quickly. I remember my first lesson and my awe of how 'decked out' your studio was. But from that first lesson I knew singing was something that I wanted to do outside of the shower. I can't thank you enough for helping me, guiding me and being the best teacher I could ask for. All my successes are a testament to your incredible teaching. But beyond the singing we've created an incredible relationship and we could have done with 2 hour long lessons to make up for all the time we spent chatting.

To think I won't be seeing you every week next year is so sad! I've honestly loved all the times at my singing lessons. Not only have I learnt how to sing but also how to perform confidently. All the Yellowwood concerts and this year's show have proved that! Tracy I will miss you so much next year and once again thank you for everything you have done for me. Love

Dear Trace. Thank you for being such a constant and significant being in my life for the past six and a half years. You have watched me grow as a person and develop as a singer and it wouldn't have been possible without your constant support and guidance. I'll miss our weekly lessons more than I can express. You've always been there for me whether it's making me sound good through the PA equipment, having banter with me before my lesson, making the trips to school when the bus has failed to and celebrating my successes. Dear Tracy. It brings me great sadness to know that I will not be continuing singing lessons with you next year. I can honestly say I have enjoyed every lesson. The past 5 years with you have really helped me grow as a person, making me much more confident on stage and in everyday life. Dear Tracy. There are no words that I could say to thank you enough for what you have done for me these past three years. No one has believed in me the way you do. I know that I am disorganised and can be a pain sometimes and I am sorry for that, I promise you Tracy I will make up for it, because you have given me so much, you gave me hope for my future and for my present self. I never believed that I was good at anything or had a talent. I always undermined myself but singing gave me courage, it gave me strength. You gave me strength. You never gave up on me when I got lazy or when I lost my way. You opened up your home to me and made me feel worth something, ever since my first exam I changed my mind set completely about myself. However I still do not believe that I am that great and I most probably will think I failed after my next exams but I don't think that will ever change.

At the audition I told myself that I must not back down, that I can do it. But the thing that got me through was you, your encouragement and positivity. I am sorry that I did not call you after the audition but I completely forgot, I was so caught up in my own thoughts that it completely slipped my mind. Please do not think that I am rude or that I do not care because I care more than anything. I feel awful that I did not call you. Please forgive the dizzy lizzy Italian :(

Tracy I honestly do not know what I will do without you next year. I will miss sitting in your studio chatting to you, listening to you sing along to a tune and sharing your stories. I will miss our endless cups of tea and hugs. But no matter where I am or where I end up I will make sure I come see you because you have blessed me with so much since I've met you. Hi Tracy and Steve. We are all overjoyed with Julia's exam result and wanted to thank you for your amazing tuition, support and passion you have instilled in her!! She couldn't have down it without you and we really appreciate all you do for her!

I can't believe it's time to say goodbye to you and Trace. Words just cannot be found to express the gratitude we have for the impact you have both had on our girls over the years. Firstly, the selfconfidence you have given them – one cannot put a price on that. Secondly, the love you have poured into them has meant more to them than you know. I can't count the number of times I've dropped them off for a lesson and they've been in a dark place, but when I pick them up again; it's a different child. Music transcends and heals and it's a precious gift that you have given them - so thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Hi Tracy and Steve. Now that the stress of the past weekend has eased... First, I just wanted to say a very big thank you for all your blood, sweat and tears. But also, as I reflect on the apprehensive little urchin who sang so softly two years ago (and it is a helluva thing to stand on stage and expose oneself so...) and look at the progress he has made, not just vocally, but more importantly, in terms of self-confidence and selfassurance, I could not thank you guys enough. And the "how" you do it (build up the kids) is in the small things... when you introduce the girls it's the "beautiful" xxx, you jump on the grenade and into the mix if someone is not there, or chime in when the kids forget the words, and the event itself, which is largely in front of like-minded peers who appreciate how difficult it is to stand up-front and so provide an appreciative, non-judgmental audience. But it is all nurturing and grows the kids in many more ways than just in music, which is probably why you have the best performing school in the country. You guys are real treasures! So again, thank you

Dear Tracy and Steve, thank you very much for yesterday's winter music festival performed by Songworks. The performances were outstanding, and Daniel's grandparents and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and had a most memorable time. Dear Tracy and Steve. I am going to attempt to convey to the both of you how extremely grateful my husband and I both are to the two of you for all that you have done for our daughter and all that you have been to her for the past three years.

Her weekly sessions with you were the highlight of her week. She would often be a completely changed person after her lessons - going from feeling weary and heavily-laden to happy, excited and walking with a spring in her step and a song on her lips. You not only taught her singing but gave her friendship, encouragement, hope, value and self-worth. I do not think she would have made it through the year without you both. And I say that without any exaggeration.

And then again yesterday morning, she was feeling so discouraged about her future only to arrive at your place and discover that you have set up an entire studio for her to use. She was completely blown away by your thoughtfulness. As are my husband and I.

You are both such warm and inspiring people and you both have come to mean a lot to our daughter. We are so pleased and grateful that she is continuing with you this year and we would like to thank you both for mentoring her and being a part of her life, especially in this tricky period where she is transitioning into adulthood. So this email is to thank you, but I feel like it falls short of conveying adequately to you both our gratitude and the extent of the role that you have played in our daughter's life.

Thank you for the past few years that (our son) has had the privilege to be involved with your studio, under your tutorship and direction, a chapter of his life that he will always cherish.

Keegan continues to enjoy coming through to you every Monday afternoon. He always tells us how amazing you are both as people and the beautiful facilities you have and of course the music which he loves.
